Annual Urban Mobility India Conference
IUT has been organizing a major conference regularly every year. The National Urban Transport Policy, 2006 inter-alia envisages institutionalization of an Annual Urban Transport Conference to bring together the urban Transport professionals and officials in the country as well as international experts to facilitate exchange of information, learn from developments and experience abroad and also share their experiences. Accordingly MOUD has institutionalized w.e.f. 2008 an annual Conference cum Exhibition on Urban Mobility India at New Delhi every year. The task of organizing the conference has been entrusted to the IUT. This event is organizing this year on 08th – 11th November 2016, so that Urban Transport professional and other stakeholders can keep note in their diary/ calendar and make sure to participate. The conference is a major event and the preparation goes on throughout the full year.

UMI 2012

UMI 2012 was organized at Manekshaw Centre in Dhaulakuan. The theme for UMI 2012 was Smart Mobility. It was attended by approximately 1100 participants from India and Abroad. The conference and expo were inaugurated on 6th December by Hon’ble Minister for Housing & Poverty Alleviation, Government of India, Shri Ajay Maken. The valedictory function was graced by Shri Kamal Nath, the Hon’ble Minister for Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs.
UMI 2011

UMI 2011 was organized at Manekshaw Centre in Dhaulakuan. The theme was UMI 11 was Sustainable Transport. This event was co-hosted the Sixth Regional Forum on Environmentally Sustainable Transport (EST) in Asia organized by the Unite Nations Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD). The event was inaugurated by the then Union Minister, Urban Development ,Shri Kamal Nath. It was attended by participants from more than 30 countries; Nearly 5 countries were represented by their ministers.

UMI 2010 was organized at the Grand Hotel in VasantKunj from December 3rd - 5th 2010. The theme for the conference was “Accessible and Inclusive Cities”. This was inaugurated by Shri Jaipal Reddy, Union Minister, and Urban Development.
